Here are some ways that I have used technology in my classroom as well as to contribute to the school community.
International Day of Peace VideoThis video was created to be shown at our school wide assembly for our International Day of Peace celebration earlier this school year. Students and teachers were asked to explain what peace means to them.

Recording Recorders
Often when teaching recorders, I don't get to listen to as many students in one class period as I like. By adding SpeakPipe to my webpage, students are able to record themselves playing and send it directly to me. I was also able to send them feedback whether or not we were in class. To try it out, click here.
Symbaloo
Using Symbaloo, I have been able to have quick and easy access to the songs I will teach that day. Also, every time we learn a song, I add it to a board. If we ever have a few extra minutes at the end of class, we can quickly and easily pull up an old favorite to review.
Prezi
|
Also on my recorder website, I have several Prezis and other learning modules. Students have access to these modules during and outside of class. During class, students use chromebooks to review any material that may be giving them trouble. They can review old lessons and play games to help reinforce music reading concepts and skills. They are doing this while I am giving real time feedback to small groups of students regarding their recorder playing.
